Octavian, 44-27 BC. Denarius (Silver, 19 mm, 3.48 g, 9 h), uncertain Italian mint (Rome?), autumn 30-summer 29. Bare head of Octavian to right. Rev. IMP - CAESAR Naval and military trophy composed of helmet, cuirass, shield, and crossed spears, set on prow of galley to right; at base, crossed rudder and anchor. BMC 625. Cohen 119. RIC 265. Some deposits and with a banker's mark on the obverse, otherwise, about very fine.

From a collection formed in the Rhineland from the late 1970s to the late 1990s, privately acquired from Dr. Walter Kimpel (with original dealer's ticket).
